Children on Whidbey Island light up differently when they’re handed an instrument, touch it, find their singing voice and experience their natural talent.
Arts Alive Whidbey supports performance-based arts education for children, bringing teaching artists into classrooms and community spaces so children can learn to play an instrument, sing, compose, create and perform, instead of just dreaming about it about it, because there are not sufficient funds to support the child’s creative dream.
We do rely on fundraising to keep these programs alive and running, to keep them free or low-cost for families who need that.
Every donation goes toward real things: teaching artist fees, performance supplies, space rental, and getting more children active in the arts, whether they are in private lessons or group musical creative experiences. A child who gets to stand on a stage once often asks to do it again. That only happens if the program is sustainable.
Help us keep the musical arts open for the next group of children. Donate today and be part of making that happen.
